DAY 01 | Arrival Raipur – Sirpur
On arrival at Raipur airport, start for the ancient archaeological and cultural location of Sirpur (80 KMS). Enroute visit take a quick stop over at the small town of Arang (30 kms from Raipur). You will be amazed to see the remains of the 9th Century Bhand Deul Temple. Only the Shikar of the temple is now remaining and the mandap etc have been destroyed. The remaining carvings on the three sides of the temple are very impressive and are a good indication of the beauty of the temple in ancient times. Inside the temple once can see the granite statute of the Jain Tirthankara. Then start for Sirpur. On arrival check in to the accommodation of the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. Later in the day visit the different locations at Sirpur including the famous Lakshman Temple, Surang Tila, Anand Prabhu Kuti Vihar and the other sites which have come up in excavations of recent years. Dinner and overnight at Sirpur.
DAY 02 | Sirpur – Nayanpur – Sheorinarayan – Bilaspur
After B/F, start for Sirpur. Experience the splendour of this erstwhile capital of once Dakshin Kaushal state. There are numerous monuments here; Lakshman Temple, Budha Vihar and Gandheshwar Temple are a few of these. The famous Chinese Traveler Huen Tsang who visited India in century had mentioned about Sirpur being an important center for art and culture in those times. Sirpur is also very close to being declared as a World Heritage Site. After your date with the marvelous Sirpur, push of for Shiva Temple at Narayanpur. This ancient temple has some of the most beautiful erotic carvings depicting the art of love making. Situated on the bank of river Mahanadi, this temple is situated amongst lot of greenery. After this, your nest stop is the small town of Sheorinarayan. Visit the historical Ram temple here which has some of the best carvings on rock that you can find anywhere else. The day ends at Bilaspur. O/N at the hotel in Bilaspur.
DAY 03 | Bilaspur – Malhar – Tala – Bhoramdeo
After B/F start for Malhar, about 30 kms from Bilaspur. Malhar along with Tala (which is your next stop) is the oldest archeological site in Chhattisgarh dating as far as the 3rd century B.C. Visit the remains of the ancient temples here and then move on to Tala. Among the remains of the temples at Tala the most important sculpture is the standing statue of Rudra Shiva which is one of its kind in the entire world. After visiting all the sections of the site we head to Bhoramdeo and on arrival at Bhoramdeo, check into the resort. O/N at Bhoramdeo.
DAY 04 | Bhoramdeo
Spend your day in the green surroundings of your lovely resort. Trek to the famous 11th Century Bhoramdeo temple and savor the splendid erotic carvings on the ravishing temple. Also visit the other two nearby temples : Madwa Mahal and Cherki Mahal. The main feature of these temples other than their architecture are the abundance of the erotic sculptures. You will also be visiting the native villages and interacting with the locals and enjoy trekking in the jungle. Later in the evening enjoy a tribal dance and also visit the Bhoramdeo Sanctuary. O/N at Bhoramdeo.
DAY 05 | Bhoramdeo – Gandai – Khairagarh – Raipur
After Breakfast check out of the resort and start for Gandai. Visit the prehistoric temple at Gandai and then move on to Khairagarh. In the small town of Khairagarh visit the Indira Music University which is Asia’s exclusive university of music. This university building is the palace of the Royal Family of Khairagarh. Then start for Raipur. Arrival Raipur.
