Overview: The fact that Sri Lanka turns up as a ‘favourite’ for many well-heeled travellers shows that the slim slice of a country packs quite a punch for its size. While the stunning coastline and underwater treasures headline the experiences, the tea gardens, local markets and serene Buddhist temples make a strong hook as well. Central Sri Lanka houses the heritage loop of the country, that takes you inside mural covered caves and cliff-top forts that need some legging. There is ample to explore in the folds of Sri Lanka’s hills, including the elusive leopard, whales and large families of elephants. But what really sticks with the traveller is the warm hospitality and the easygoing manner of the people.
Colombo offers the thrum of a city life with an active nightlife scene. Drive only few kilometres to take the feet of the treadmill of the city and onto hammocks and spas. Then there is the fort town of Galle, known as much for its cricket ground, as the kitsch vibe. Some amazing sights unfold here, including, watching young Lankan boys jump 40 feet from the fort wall, flat into the Indian Ocean. Heritage walks, mask makers and boutique hotels fill up the days in Galle.
What to Expect: What you shouldn’t expect is even one boring moment in Sri Lanka. When not browsing through the exciting sights of the country, you can kick the shoes and let the sea breeze pamper you into relaxation. Sri Lanka is a veritable playground for outdoor enthusiasts, so hikes, scuba, swims and animal encounters are in plenty. Even a hike to Sigiriya, a rock fortress needs a certain amount of physical prowess, so the culture sector will not disappoint. Be ready to have some great seafood and Sri Lanka’s homegrown beer brand, Lion.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English.
