24 Airports Shut in India Amid Escalating India-Pakistan Tensions: Full List

As geopolitical tensions between India and Pakistan escalate sharply, India has temporarily shut down 24 civilian airports, mostly in the northern and western regions. This swift action comes under Operation Sindoor, a national security initiative aimed at ensuring defense readiness and minimizing civilian risk during high-alert situations.

This has caused widespread flight cancellations, diversions, and longer air travel durations across the country.

Over 400 Flights Affected

Major Indian airlines including IndiGo, Vistara, Air India, and SpiceJet have confirmed mass disruptions. Delhi and Mumbai, although not shut, are facing increased load due to diverted traffic. Many international carriers are also avoiding northern Indian airspace, resulting in increased flight times and cancellations.
