Overview: One of the highest regions in India, Ladakh is a stunning cold desert that leaves you breathless in more ways than one. One has to be up against breathtaking surroundings at every corner and the high-altitudes. Notch up the adventure, and cycle with us from Manali to Leh, amidst unforgettable terrain. Challenging as well as extremely rewarding, this is best suited for adventure travellers, but can be tried by amateur cyclists as well. Since we have a backup van at all times, new riders can take on only the stretches that they want.
In this trip, you stay at an average elevation of 13000 feet along the 479 km highway from Manali to Leh, and witness dramatic views of lush forested slopes to arid mountain deserts. Windy passes, glacial streams and far flung villages perched on high hills stay with you through the trip.
Pack in a good measure of grit and fitness before signing up to one of the most thrilling trips of India. Once you’ve crossed the Manali to Leh section, you can relax in the town and give your muscles some time off. Then haul up once again, this time to conquer the highest motorable road in the world – Khardungla. Discover the Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso lake, monasteries and villages around Leh over the next week, before returning by flight or car.
What to Expect: This trip will not be easy from any stretch of imagination. But what it will give you is a sense of achievement that is incomparable. The biggest fitness demons are personal ones, and having done this, you would have fought all of them. Besides, there is not a single day when you’re not met with exquisite views or the humblest of locals. The trip is bound to leave you with a newfound respect for the locals and the mountains. Knowledgeable guides, back-up van and personalized accommodations and experiences are sure to make this trip comfortable in all other ways.
